The Zug Cantonal School KSZ offers a 6-year secondary school program. The Matura certificate is recognized throughout Switzerland and allows students to study at any Swiss university.
Long-term secondary school
6-year secondary school program | Long-term secondary school that leads students to the university qualification exam in six years after year 6 of primary school. Main subjects can be chosen after year 3: Latin, Italian, English, Spanish, Physics/Applications of maths, Biology/Chemistry, Economics/Law, Visual Arts, Music.
Bilingual Matura | The secondary school of the Zug Cantonal School KSZ offers a bilingual German/English and German/French course. The German/English Matura is exclusively available to the top-performing students majoring in Physics and Applications of Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry or Economics and Law. Second language instruction is offered from the third to the sixth grade. Basic subjects like biology, history, mathematics, economics and law, and media studies are taught in English. Additionally, the Matura thesis is written and presented in English. The German/French Matura is also designed for top-performing students across all main subjects. It is taught in a course format and students continue in their regular class. History and geography are taught as separate subjects in French from the fourth grade. In the second semester of the fourth year, there is an exchange program for a semester with a secondary school in French-speaking Switzerland. The Matura thesis is written and presented in French in this course. Both courses, German/English and German/French, are recognized by the Swiss Matura Examination Commission and are mentioned as such on the Matura certificate.
