IT architecture
The IT architecture determines the IT components and their interaction to support business processes. Dependable and secure interaction among these components requires a modern, flexible and agile IT architecture that is consistently monitored for compliance. This is achieved through three processes:
Standards: IT architecture follows standards to design the IT landscape. These standards specify consistent design and use of IT functions, interfaces and products, in line with recognized national and international standards.
Models: The architecture models illustrate the IT architecture, representing the master databases and their assignments to the applications, tailored to the specific needs of the canton.
Securing: The IT architect ensures compatibility of new IT resources and adherence to IT standards. He is consulted on all projects and internal work assignments.
Implementing the IT architecture and standards is the responsibility of the Office for Information Technology and Organization, the decentralized IT of the canton of Zug, and the IT officers.
Architecture Board
The Architecture Board oversees, initiates, coordinates and defines the IT standards/models. The board consists of representatives from both service providers and service recipients:
− Chairman: IT Architect of the AIO (Office for Information Technology and Organization) (Head of the Architecture Board)
− Projects representative (Head of the AIO)
− Operations representative (Head of the AIO)
− Services representative (Head of the AIO)
− ZUPO representative (Head of the IT Department)
− State archives representative (Head of Archives)
− GIS Conference representative (Head of GIS Conference)
− E-Government representative (Representative of the online presence of the State Chancellery)
− Representative of cantonal schools (IT head of a cantonal school)
− Representative of the local municipalities (delegate of the IT interest group of the Zug municipalities (IGI))
