Command Department
Our specialized divisions within the Command Department assist other departments with their daily tasks and projects. This is where we recruit new employees, check legal compliance, process invoices, draft media releases and provide insights into police work.
About us
Our Command Department employees support various areas such as communication, training, human resources, finance, legal, prevention, and the command office. They provide employees and managers with the necessary tools to accomplish their tasks.
Specialist divisions of the Command Department
We place a high value on careful selection and on the training and continuing education of our employees. Together with the corps' internal specialist teachers, instructors and external partners, we ensure that our training is up-to-date and of the highest quality.
Every year, up to 20 new employees start their two-year basic training with us to become police officers. Our training staff support them throughout and prepare them optimally for their work after their basic training.

The employees of the Department of Finance deal with all our financial concerns and tasks. They work out the annual budget and the financial plan for the following three years. They also create customer invoices and process supplier invoices. Their responsibilities are rounded off by the annual financial statement.
Details on the annual financial statement and financial planning can be found at the Financial Administration of the canton of Zug.
Our media office is the link between the Police of Zug and the Public Prosecutor's Office on the one hand and the public on the other.
The staff of the media office provide the population with timely, active and continuous information about events such as accidents, crimes, fires and storms. They ask citizens for help in searching for missing persons or contact witnesses. They provide the public with relevant information, in particular to warn, reassure or correct inaccurate reports or rumors. They are in contact with the citizens via social media channels. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn.
Furthermore, our media office organizes events such as the “Open Day”, launches flyers and information brochures and manages and coordinates projects such as the appearance at the Zug Trade Fair.

Our HR staff are committed to forward-looking human resource management. The focus is always on the individual. They support employees from the moment they apply to the moment they leave the force.
In their specialist tasks, they are responsible for the smooth running of personnel recruitment, development and administration. They also advise employees and managers on human resources matters and ensure that personnel and wage regulations are consistently enforced. Furthermore, they ensure that human resources processes are handled efficiently and are the point of contact for personnel-related matters.

Our crime prevention experts will show you how to protect yourself and your surroundings.
The aim of crime prevention is to nip crimes in the bud. By means of poster campaigns, information events and visible presence on the ground, the population is sensitized to possible dangers in good time and educated about them. This is not only in traffic matters, but also in the private sphere, where you yourself can become a victim.
We see ourselves as a citizen-oriented and citizen-friendly police force, in line with the motto: “The police - your friend and helper”. We contribute to your safety by taking appropriate measures. We invite you to be our partner.
Our lawyers prepare consultations (so-called co-reports) on legislative proposals and parliamentary procedural requests that relate to operational interests. In the event of administrative disputes, they represent the interests of the Government Council and the courts. The lawyers play a leading role in the drafting of police legislation and the preparation of administrative law agreements. As part of process management, the legal experts also assist in issuing and amending service regulations.
If members of the corps find themselves involved in criminal proceedings, the legal service ensures that they receive legal support. They also participate in the corps' internal basic and further training.
