Pre- and Protohistoric Archaeology
We preserve the remnants of bygone eras buried beneath the ground. If hidden cultural heritage is at risk of getting lost due to construction projects, raw material extraction, agricultural activities or natural erosion, we intervene to excavate the sites, document them and preserve the finds.

About us
The legacy of our ancestors offers us the opportunity to explore the cultural history of our civilization and gain valuable insights into different dimensions of human coexistence.
We specifically look after archaeological sites dating from the Ice Age to the early Middle Ages, including the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the pile dwelling settlements on Lake Zug.
The cantonal structure plan marks the known archaeological sites. However, there are undoubtedly many undiscovered archaeological sites.
